Colorado Fall Colors - September 11, 2014

Fall Colors in the Rocky Mountains
Today is September 11, a solemn day to remember the tragedy from 13 years ago. I dedicate my photos to those who lost their lives and all who are mourning. I'd like to think as a nation, we all remember and grieve. When this website was in its infancy stage, I made a page about a day-visit to New York City in November 2000 that includes a shot of the World Trade Center. One my high school classmates lost her brother John in the attack.

As for the fall foliage, it is early in the season, but I spotted a few clusters of colorful trees on Chaffee County Road 306. As always, you're invited to visit my fall foliage index and website

Plenty of yellow in there, although there's still a bit too much green.

Colorado Fall Foliage Perfect! It looks like a dreamy fall colors scene.

Autumn Leaf A close-up of an autumn leaf.

My fall foliage photo galleries for 2014 so far:
  • Fall Leaves (9/5)
  • Fairplay (9/6)
  • Autumn leaves (9/9)
  • Fall Leaves People call them "golden" aspen leaves, but that looks more yellow to me! Just saying. :)

I also made a video of the scenery. Check it out!

After photographing the foliage, I traveled west on Chaffee County Road 306 to Cottonwood Pass. It's above timberline -- no autumn leaves -- but the mountain scenery is spectacular!
