OURAY & TELLURIDE, COLORADO! Photos From My Visit To The San Juan Mountains - July 2006

Ouray, Colorado

	I'm sitting in front of my computer still battling a head cold that has rendered me down. Ah, but then I realized I never really made a "recap page" of my visit to Ouray and Telluride in early July. Here are some of the highlights with links to respective photo collections!
	A nice view of the San Juan Mountains, taken just north of Ridgway.
	Here's a good view of Ouray. The town is surrounded by mountains that are part of the San Juan Mountain range on all sides, which earned its nickname "The Switzerland of America."
	Left: Cascade Falls, located just a few blocks from downtown Ouray. Right: A really huge waterfall just south of Ouray along Highway 550.

Telluride, Colorado

	I stayed overnight at the Back Narrows Inn and Hostel in Norwood, and caught the tail end of the hot air balloon exhibition on Sunday morning in Telluride.

	I spent some time in front of the Telluride Mountain Properties web cam. I made an entire page dedicated to this at: Telluride Web Cam.
	I spent some time photographing the San Juan Mountains outside of Telluride. The above photo is of Sunshine Mountain (left) and the Mt. Wilson range (right). For the photo below, I turned around from the same vicinity and captured the mountain that runs north and northwest of Telluride.
	I drove up to Lizard Head Pass and snapped this scenic shot! :)

Extras On The Way Back

	A couple of photos as I began the long drive from Telluride to Buena Vista. Just outside of Ridgway, the old muffler on my Honda broke off and began scraping on the ground. I pulled over in downtown Ridgway and bungeed the muffler up so it wasn't scraping the road!
