My friend and I were driving on the Mt. Evans Scenic Byway, located in the mountains west of Denver, when we spotted approximately 15-20 mountain goats eating grass and living in their natural high elevation habitat.

It was so interesting to see their woolly coats shedding.

Some of the mountain goats stood next to the road. We gently drove past this guy ... the closest I've ever been to one.

This is probably my best mountain goat image. He looks sharp!

I have spotted mountain goats a few other times, most recently near the summit of Horseshoe Mountain in the Mosquito Range. This one posed for about 30 seconds above before scooting away. :)
