Hanging Out With Steve Anderson - Visits to Cottonwood Pass and Independence Pass
A sentimental and memorable day ... September 29, 2012 - On this page are my photos from my last full day as a resident of
Buena Vista before moving to Fruita.
First of all, special thanks to Steve Quilico for helping me move my furniture into storage. What a good friend! In the afternoon, Steve Anderson of Kansas City
arrived in Buena Vista. This is a man who loves the mountains with all his heart and
frequently vacations here. It was so nice to reconnect with him. Our first order of business was to make the scenic drive to
Cottonwood Pass ...
The fall colors were so pretty along the "Cottonwood Lake turnoff" (Chaffee County Road 344). Steve was in awe. :)
I sat in the passenger seat of Steve's Chrysler Sebring convertible, with the top down, and often looked up at the sky and
upper parts of trees. I gazed at the mountain scenery as though I was seeing it for the first time, and yet also reflected with gratitude over
the myriad experiences I'd had in my seven years of living in
Above is my last photo of the spectacular view on the west side of Cottonwood Pass.
En route to another pass on the Continental Divide ...
In the late afternoon, we headed to Independence Pass to watch and photograph the sunset. Above is a photo while we were pulled over in Twin Lakes.
Us at the Independence Pass sign. :)
The sunset reflecting off a tundra pool at the pass. Thanks Steve, for an enjoyable final day.
Videos It was fun to make videos documenting Steve's vacation. :)
