FREMONT PASS, COLORADO! Photos Of The Rocky Mountain Scenery - May 13, 2006

Lake County, Colorado I returned to the Fremont Pass area today and from the Lake County side, I snapped this photo. There is much less snow up here!
Here are some of my photos from this region:
  • Fremont Pass (January 2006)
  • Summit County, Colorado
  • Vail Pass, Tennessee Pass
  • Leadville, Mountains Around Leadville
  • Fremont Pass The Fremont Pass summit should not to be confused with Fremont County, Colorado, by the way. ;)
Mt. Democrat Mt. Democrat sits in the middle with a few buildings of the Climax mine to the left.
Summit County, Colorado On the Summit County side of the pass, there is an overlook with a large valley. Lots of snow way up here in the Colorado high country!
Mayflower Gulch Trailhead Now I had planned to hike the Mayflower Gulch Trail, but as you can see in this photo, the very beginning of the trailhead was still packed with quite a bit of snow. I only have mountain boots and didn't have snow shoes or other gear to tolerate the snow, so uh, I'll be back in the summer! ;)

Instead, I wound up driving through Copper Mountain, Vail, Eagle and Minturn and partook in some good photography. More photos are coming! :)
