Now I did not take many photos
from the Cottonwood Hot Springs to the Denny Creek Trailhead.
This second photo was taken somewhere below timberline. The cyclist ahead may have been in his
upper 50's or early 60's, and he was a great encouragement to me! :)
Biking on switchbacks on Chaffee County Road 306.
Plenty of snow remains. Jason and I hiked in similar snowy terrain
during our ascent of Mount Yale earlier in the month.
Only one mile to go,
I reached a clearing with a view of the pass Love all the snow!
This is Colorado at its best, folks! :)
After the last major switchback, this was the last hill to the top.
It took me three hours to go 19.6 miles of significant uphill,
but it was so worth it. The ride down was glorious as I
whizzed downhill at about 30 to 35 miles per hour for much of the way.
