COLORADO ASPENS! Two Great Spots For Enjoying Colorado Aspens - July 2006
Independence Pass Colorado
East of Aspen, Colorado on Independence Pass Road
Colorado Aspens Yesterday I wandered about my car in Aspen, Carbondale, Redstone and Marble and even though the weather was overcast all afternoon, I just couldn't resist snapping some shots in areas teeming with beautiful Colorado aspens. I think this particular spot on Independence Pass Road (east of Aspen) is my all-time favorite.
Colorado Aspens Weeeeeee! Look at all those aspens!
Colorado Aspens Now this is the very same spot Nick, Kelly, Bernie and myself visited on our way to Aspen in September 2004.

McClure Pass (Near Redstone, Colorado)
McClure Pass I eventually headed up to McClure Pass and was impressed with the large areas of aspens.
Colorado Aspens On the Gunnison County (western) side of the pass, there is a large patch of extremely tall aspens. It was just beautiful!
Colorado Aspens Most of the great views, however, are on the eastern side of the pass. There are many overlooks including this one, facing north towards the Crystal River valley that leads to Redstone.

Sigh! All I can say is, if you are looking to enjoy Colorado aspens, you can't go wrong visiting either of these spots! :)
